FAQs
While the helicopter significantly reduces the physical strain, pilgrims must trek approximately 6 km from Panchtarni to the Amarnath Cave. The trek is manageable for most people with average fitness levels. However, due to the high altitude and rugged terrain, it is advisable for participants to prepare physically in advance and consult with a doctor if they have any medical conditions.
Helicopter services are subject to weather conditions, and flights can be delayed or canceled if the weather is deemed unsafe for flying. In such cases, we will make every effort to accommodate guests on subsequent flights or provide alternative arrangements. Safety is our top priority.
Pilgrims need to carry a valid photo ID proof and a Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) issued by authorized doctors/institutions as listed by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB). The health certificate is mandatory for all yatris and must be produced to obtain the Yatra Permit required for the pilgrimage.
As per the guidelines set by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, children below 13 years, elderly people above 75 years, and pregnant women more than 6 weeks into their pregnancy are not allowed to undertake the Yatra. This is due to the extreme conditions and the high altitude involved, which can pose serious health risks.
